Course Description

Aims

To give an overview of the importance of correct access design, instrumentation and irrigation of the root the root canal system in the treatment of pulpal and periradicular disease.

The importance of the guide path will be demonstrated using rotary Pathfiles™ prior to instrumentation using ProTaper™ files. The microbiology of the root canal system will also be addressed as a combination of cleaning and shaping is paramount to success.

About the speaker

Dr Carol Tait

Dr Carol Tait graduated with honours from Dundee University and worked in general practice for many years before returning to academia. She obtained a Masters degree in Endodontics from the University of Stellenbosch in 1998 and then became a Lecturer in Endodontics at the University of Dundee where she completed her specialist endodontic training in 2004.

She is an experienced endodontist who practices three days a week at the esteemed Edinburgh Dental Specialists where she treats referrals case from throughout Scotland and the north of England. She also works as a Senior Clinical Teacher in Endodontics at the University of Dundee providing undergraduate and postgraduate endodontic teaching two days a week and frequently delivers postgraduate courses throughout Scotland.
