About the speaker

Professor Trevor Burke

Professor Trevor Burke is a nationally and internationally known speaker and is also editorial director of Dental Update. 

After working in his native Belfast, Trevor took up a lecturer's post in Manchester, where he worked for twenty years, before being appointed to the Chair of Dental Primary Care in Glasgow in 1996. 

He has published over 200 papers, and his research interests include tooth-coloured restoratives, cross-infection control and the design of an oral health index for clinical audit, and quality control. 

His other roles have included Chairman of the Advisory Board for General Dental Practice, board member of the Dental Practice Board, examiner for the MGDS in Glasgow and Edinburgh, and member of the research committee of the Faculty of General Dental Practitioners.
