Course Description


To discuss the changing population of the UK and how this will the impact oral health needs of the population.

Learning content 

Join Julie Rosse in this webinar sponsored by Oral-B. This webinar will discuss the changing population of the UK, with particular reference to the ageing dentate population as well as the very young. It will: look at the overall healthcare needs of the population, including oral effects of prescribed medications, lack of manual dexterity, and degenerative diseases; discuss the current oral hygiene aids what we already use and recommend as dental professionals; and discuss how what we use could be improved, and what could be the future for us and the dental trade industry


  • To discuss the changes in the oral health of the UK population and the oral care needs they may have now and in the future
  • To discuss what oral hygiene aids are available and how dental professionals and the dental trade industry may need to evolve to meet those changes

About the speaker

Julie Rosse

Julie qualified as a dental hygienist at the Eastman Dental Institute in London in 1995, and then worked for a short time in community dental health before working in general practice where she still works to the present day. 

She later went on to do the extended duties course and went to college to gain a City & Guilds qualification in teaching.

After many years at local level of the British Society of Dental Hygiene and Therapy (BSDHT), she became their Regional Group Coordinator in 2008, until 2015. Additionally, she was elected at the AGAM in 2010 to the post of President Elect.

Julie became BSDHT President for the term of 2012-2014 during which time Direct Access was granted to the profession. Julie has given many presentations around the UK, has written numerous articles and has appeared as a panel member at various dental events.
