Peter Thornley is the lead tutor for the FFGDP. He has considerable experience in education and assessment. Previously he was the chief examiner for the MJDF.  He is the programme director for Foundation Training in Coventry, facilitator for the West Midlands FFGDP study group (with Bob Morgan) and is completing a Masters in Medical Education at the University of Warwick.

Peter was a founder member of the Birmingham Research in General Dental Practice (Bridge) group and a previous winner of the BDA Shirley Glasstone Hughes prize for research in General Dental Practice. He has been a judge for the BDA Good Practice of the Year award and a Dental Practice Advisor and Educational Lead for Heart of Birmingham teaching Primary Care Trust. He has lectured nationally and internationally on preparation courses for the MFGDP and MJDF examinations.
